Blue Lunar Monkey started playing the keyboard at the young age of thirteen, eventually moving onto the guitar which would later inspire him to make his own band. Throughout his career, Daniel Gradilla led the main role in several rock bands, where "Naranja Mecánica" stands out for being the first Mexican band to be signed by Universal Music International with a very popular hit single and a video that swept Latin America off its feet. Despite the success of Daniel's band, by 1998 BLM had already been attracted to a whole new world of possibilities, floating into the realms of ambient and trance music. Without leaving his studio work aside, he founded Mandala, one of the pioneering organizations that promoted trance and its inherent lifestyle. Since then, his trailblazing talent has taken him around the Earth's orb to present his magical and spiritually-inspired music that consists of two major sides: Psytrance and Dub, which despite their differences, consequently bring Blue Lunar Monkey's resonance to a harmonious balance within the transcendental roots of the tribal ritual. He has released a debut artist album for each one of his musical entities, as well as many singles for compilations on labels worldwide. Recently reunited with Maia Records, Blue Lunar Monkey embarks in a new saga of yet unraveled mysteries.
A few years back, he traveled to India alongside his soul-mate Jill, studying together to become professional Yoga Masters. Today they teach Ashtanga Yoga in their own studio in the beautiful pacific coast beach, Sayulita, where they have been living for the past years.


Blue Lunar Monkey inició su carrera en el medio artístico a la corta edad de trece años, momento en el que empezaba a tocar el sintetizador y más tarde la guitarra, lo cual propició su interés por iniciar una banda. A lo largo de su trayectoria estuvo al mando de varias bandas de rock, incluyendo el grupo Naranja Mecánica, que sobresale por ser la primera banda Mexicana en ser firmada por Universal Music International, y por tener un muy popular éxito, que tanto en la radio como en la televisión, arrasó en toda Latinoamérica. A pesar de los logros con la banda, para 1998 la atracción por explorar los mundos musicales del ambient y el trance dentro del reino electrónico lo llevaron a fundar Mandala, organización que promovía la cultura y estilo de vida inherentes del trance. Desde entonces, el indiscutible talento de BLM es reconocido tanto en México como en el extranjero por su mágica y espiritualmente inspirada música que consiste en dos géneros fundamentales: el Psystrance y el Dub, que tan diferentes como son el uno del otro, consecuentemente brindan un balance armónico dentro de las raíces transcendentales del ritual tribal del distintivo sonido de Blue Lunar Monkey. Con dos álbums debut de cada uno de los lados de sus dominios musicales y muchos sencillos en compilaciones de disqueras alrededor del mundo, Daniel regresa ahora con Maia Records para embarcar en una nueva saga que aguarda enigmas por explorar.
